A couple of weeks ago, Joseph brought us a special unplanned message about the great things happening in our church and how we can apply 'mustard-seed style faith' to keep dreaming big.
As we continue through 2025 and lean into our vision of Exploring New Horizons, we were inspired to reflect and pray about how we can reach, and minister to, more people in the Oceanside area in which we live and serve.
Using the parable and imagery of the Mustard Seed (Luke 13:18-19 and Luke 17:5-6), we were reminded that:
1. The Kingdom of God starts through small acts and simple ways and grows from there, and,
2. Applying just a little bit of faith goes a long way.
As a church, we've tried to rely on this wisdom and thinking in the past when boldly setting out our 5-year faith goals. Faithful to his character, God has done amazing things at Oceanside, growing 'trees' in response to the small seeds that were planted all those years ago.
For the current year, there are three prayer areas that we invite you to engage with.
1) Multiplication Service/Site - How might God lead us to expand our reach? A satellite church site? A partnership with another church? An additional service?
2) Ministry Staff - We are seeking to invest more in the next generation by bringing on another staff member in the area of Youth/Young Adult ministry.
3) More of the Spirit - To accomplish anything, we need the power of the Holy Spirit.
As we work towards laying out our faith goals for the next 5-years later this year, we encourage you to join with us in asking yourself, How might you take some small and simple steps to 'plant seed' in 2025? Also, what are you dreams for the church, and where/how do you feel that God is leading you?
Please consider spending time in prayer and filling out the response form below.
